This mill route starts and ends at visitors centre Kinderdijk. The route is varied, along tranquil meadows with distant views, along the heavily navigated river Lek and through the beautiful windmill polder of Kinderdijk. Discover the beauty of this World Heritage Site, the surrounding polder and experience the turning windmills when they pump away the water!

Overwaard Molen no. 4 (Museummolen Overwaard)
Museum mill Overwaard is unique in the world. It is the only mill that is able to pump water in and out of the polder by two scoop wheels! You can reach the Museum mill by boat from the jetty between the Visitor Center and Nederwaard Molen no.2. An entrance ticket for Kinderdijk is required.

The corn mill of Oud-Alblas lets you demonstrates you all sides of all sides of the corn miller’s craft. You can see how there was a corn mill in every village to grind flour for the villagers. At the mill, there is a store with delicious craft products.

The mills of Kinderdijk are open daily for visitors. At these mills, you will discover the life of the miller around 1950. How was it to work and livearound and in a historic mill from 1630? The present millers can provide you with all the information you need.
